custom alerts
5 TopicsFormatting custom alerts in user_alert.conf
Using BIG-LTM. Have user_alert.conf configured with custom traps based on content of /var/log/ltm. This works fine... (Yes, we have seen https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K59616664 and all the related articles.) I understand that the content of the Subject line is the entirety of the log entry from /var/log/ltm. I understand that there is no parsing of that log entry for variables. What I'm looking for is anything that will help with the formatting/readibility of the "body" line. Is the only option a single line of text with no formatting? How are people solving sending alerts that are readable by non-technical team members? Can we include line breaks?356Views0likes0CommentsAlert when only one pool member left.
I've been tasked with coming up with an alert when there's only one pool member left in the pool. I'm trying to think of the simplest way to go about it. I have created a custom trap using the /config/user_alert.conf before so I'm not worried about that. I'm just trying to think of the easiest way to get the log entry written so the trap will trigger. I tried playing with Priority Group Activation and manually disabling and forcing members offline, but no log entry was written. I've never written an EAV monitor before, would that work? Can anyone think of anything else?393Views0likes2CommentsFeature Request: CLI-only changes and pushing to entire enterprise
Hello DevCentral Community, I'm generally new to BIG-IQ, first of all, so please excuse me if this exists and I haven't found it yet. I have 8 HA pairs so total 16 BIG-IP virtual instances, and we're evaluating BIG-IQ to manage our environment. Something that would really help us out would be the ability to make changes to the configuration you'd normally have to do via the command line such as ciphers and custom alerts. In addition, the ability to push those changes to all devices I have discovered and managed. If this feature exists, please enlighten me, but I have not found it at this point. Thank you.499Views0likes4Comments
