11.5.1
3 TopicsDES-CBC3-SHA listed as 192 bits but SSL Labs reports as 112 bit
In the table here under the BIG-IP 11.5.0 - 11.5.2 section it lists the DES-CBC3-SHA ciphers as 192 bits. However a SSL Labs scan will report the following: TLS_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA (0xa)112 [bits] I'm not a crypto-nerd but if I read this explanation correctly that particular cipher has an effective security of 112 bits but if the encryption is achieved by using 3 56 bit keys (3 X 56 = 168) why is F5 reporting 192 bits?507Views0likes3CommentsHot fix upgrade
We are running 11.5.1 BIG-IP and thinking of applying hot fixes. We have multiple guests for multiple entities. My main concern is that if I apply hot fix of 12.x will i see any change is features? like i read somewhere that the event logs will not be stored locally any more in 12.x (i am not able to recollect exactly so no sure if this is correct). Any idea to find out the detailed comparative charts/figures to clearly identify what is gonna change in 12.x? I am bit concerned about how I will go ahead whether to update to 12.x or continue updating 11.6.x ?Solved510Views0likes4Commentsbig3d err with different versions of bigip
Hey guys, Have a bunch of gtms that run sites as stand alones. 2 at each. At one site I have 11.5.1 hf7 the other site 11.4.1 hf3. I havent had to build out any wideips since we upgraded the one site. I had to build one out the other day and noticed that I was only able to add the vips to the gtm pool at the one site that has the 11.5.1 hf7 version on it. And noticed that it did propagate the changes to the other site gtms. I am also getting inconsistent ping and lookups on the application also. I am also getting "no reply big3d timed out on the vip when I hover over it". This vip is on the ltm at the other site which is the same site that has the 11.4.1 hf3 gtm. Could the cause of this be that I am running different versions at the two sites thus the reason for it not propagating to all sites ?245Views0likes1Comment
