EDITORS NOTE (March 2023): A previous version of this article contained links to a publicly available CDN where F5 quickly shared free training during the early stages of the pandemic when many people and companies were coping with the rush to work from home. Since things have settled a bit the free Getting Started trainings (and others) have been moved back into the LearnF5 ecosystem.
We continue to see increased need for information and awareness around our Access Policy Manager (APM) toolset, general VPN related queries, and a host of other exclamations such as "My whole company is working from home starting...yesterday! HAALP!"
To try and help more customers more quickly - the F5 Global Support and F5 Training teams have recently moved efficiently to make some additional training publicly available.
The two training destinations here may require an F5 Learn account. The content is the same, just on different platforms, for preference-sake. This training is available, for registered customers with an account, on LearnF5.
Consisting of three modules; each module (episode) contains concepts, configuration, lab demo, and knowledge check.
This course covers three typical deployment scenarios for BIG-IP Access Policy Manager (APM) and is broken into three individual lessons.
In lesson one, you learn how to configure BIG-IP APM to provide Active Directory-based authentication for a load-balanced pool of web servers.
Building on that, in lesson two, you learn how to create a policy that provides an SSL VPN (Network Access) resource to users, but only when they log into BIG-IP APM using a corporate-issued PC.
Finally, lesson three builds on the first two lessons to create a policy that provides a dynamic landing page with both SSL VPN as well as an OWA (Portal Access) resource, but only to users with special authorization.
