Great catch/reminder from @hrbrmstr that SNI (extensions to TLS/SSL) can be used to address the issue of virtual hosts / web servers and certificate management.
If you haven't looked into it you can read the TLS-related RFC here or a Wikipedia article on the subject (with lots of related links).
