x-forwarder error

Hi,

We are seeing a lot of below errors on the server

  • Operation not supported (line 1) invoked from within "HTTP::header insert X-Forwarded-For [IP::client_addr]"

X-Forwarder_Exch_LTM { when HTTP_REQUEST { HTTP::header insert X-Forwarded-For [IP::client_addr] }

what checks can i add to ensure that i dont see the errors

thanks

  • Hello,

    This irule is not required as you can achieve the same directly within the http profile attached to your Virtual Server. Havea look to ypur http profile settings and ensure that the insert X-Forwarded-For header is checked

  • I'd agree with this. You need not create a rule for this. There's already XFF available for the VS. All you need is to enable it.

    And ask your server team (IIS or apache) to extract it using a log filter.
