Win 10 and Server 2016 clients will not connect. Stuck on Initializing
Do you know what exactly did they update?
Might they have forced TLS_1.3 ?
Latest from Powerschool:
As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a strong security posture and staying aligned with supported product lifecycles, we recently completed an upgrade to our F5 infrastructure. (per the notification sent on 6/28/2025). Following this upgrade, we were made aware of connection issues specifically impacting legacy Windows Server operating systems when using the SSL VPN (Edge Client). Please note that F5 does not support SSL VPN connections from any Windows Server operating system, as this offering is intended for use on client machines only. To ensure seamless connectivity, we recommend using a supported client device running Windows 10 or Windows 11, both of which are fully supported by F5 for SSL VPN access.
Powerschool gave me a link to a compatiblity matrix. The below is listed in the link. Does this mean the Big IP Edge client is supported on Windows Server 2016?
Remote Desktop Gateway Compatibility Matrix
The following server products were qualified for compatibility with F5 BIG-IP APM Secure Remote Desktop Gateway:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2016
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1*
- Microsoft Windows 10
- Microsoft Windows Server 2019
- Microsoft Windows Server 2022

Nacreous
To my understanding this means that Microsoft Windows Server 2016 is supported
