Will the Rest API service will be enable by default and will it be always available to query in F5 devices ?

Hi All,

 

If we need to manage the F5 device via rest-api, is the rest service enabled by default in device or we may need to enable first and start querying it. And also will the rest service will be available always or any situation/dependencies which can cause the service down ?

 

It would be helpful if any of the forum members provide pointers to support these queries.

    Speaking from experience here, depending on your version, no you don't need to enable REST (we are running 11.5.1).

     

    Yes, it's possible for the REST interface to be down, typically when the management page is also offline (but i would assume there are other conditions as well).
