Will an APM Network Settings change affect a currently connected VPN user?

I'm going to be changing the network access policy for VPN users (specifically, the Network Settings tab - adding two more DNS servers in the Client Settings section). Will making that change affect currently-connected VPN users, or will the updated access policy come into effect for them the next time they connect? We're doing split-tunneling for VPN, btw. My guess is it will go unnoticed, but I need to verify that.
