Nimbostratuswhen to use an irule
i've viewed a few posts regarding help with an irule. The responses indicating that you could do xyz with http profile instead. So i began to wonder when is it appropreaite to use an irule over http profile or vice versa?

Hi Steve,
I think just about anything you can do with default LTM config is going to be more efficient than an iRule as TMM code is lower level and better tested than customer written iRules. However, iRules provide a lot of additional options which aren't possible using default configuration. So a good rule of thumb is that if you can do something using a default configuration, don't use an iRule.
