What is the difference between TCP and TCP-RFC3195 in ASM Remote Logging Profiles?

I'm setting up a remote logging profile for ASM. In the Protocol field, there are two TCP options: "TCP" and "TCP-RFC3195". Does anyone know the difference between the two? The help tab in the produc...

Hello AlgebraicMirror,

 

I think that for the Protocol when you choose

 

  • "TCP" it will use the default implementation of the TCP protocol
  • "TCP-RFC3195" it will use TCP but with the implementation described in the RFC3195. This RFC is defined for Syslog Protocol https://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3195.txt

So based on my comprehension, if you have a Syslog server it is better to use the "TCP-RFC3195".
