What are my options of Cloning VE 13.1 ?
- I wanted to clone my Dev lab and recreate a new F5 device and relicense and apply new changes. So I can take a copy of the existing vm back up and change the host name and reattach the vm to the server and start the configuration. Is this a good cloning practice.
- My ultimate goal is build the other server so that I can configure HA. Any pointer is appreciated.

Hello,
you have various possibilities everything depends what you want in the end. You can create a new peer and synchronize the configuration between your 2 members (once the configuration synchronization is done, you can destroy the cluster and cancel the floating if you have created).
you can also create a VM (new ova) and import the backup. don't forget to install backup with cli in order to do not overwrite your license (no-license):
tmsh load sys ucs [ucs file name] no-license
Just warning about Conflict IP after backup restoring in you new F5 VE (disable interface before and change Selfip, hostname and mgmt IP)...
Let me now if you need more help.
Regards,
