vmware horizon view advanced load managment with pcoip proxy
Hi,
we did implement apm and ltm for vmware horizon view 5.2 according to the 'vmware-view5-iapp-dg_rc7' deployment guide. Especially, we did it as described in the chapter 'advanced load management using dynamic session detection'. We did some minor changes, so it fits for the customer environment (2 pods in one location). The only thing missing is the possibility to integrate the pcoip proxy function is this setup. Does anybody knows or has an idea how to do?

Hi,
You just need 11.4 release with APM module and create a remote desktop object for vmware.
You can find the latest deployment guide here : https://f5.com/solutions/deployment-guides/vmware-view-50-51-and-horizon-view-52-53-big-ip-v1

Hi Matthieu,
thank you for your reply. The BIGIP is running software release 11.4.1 with APM and we used the deployment guide you mentioned. As the customer runs two independent view farms we needed to implement the user persistence as described in the chapter 'Advanced Load Management using Dynamic Session Detection'. This solution is build with one virtual server which acts as the entry point for the view client. This virtual server has no access policy attached but an iRule which forwards the traffic to another virtual server if no current session on the BIGIP is detected. The second virtual server has an access policy attached and covers the user persistence via another iRule. For the PCoIP proxy to work I understood it should be necessary to enable 'VDI & Java support'. But on which virtual server? On the first one (the entry point) it can't be done, because there is no access policy attached. Then on the second one? We tried but It didn't work. If you have a solution please describe in more detail, because I find the solution quite complex.
Best regards Phong
