Virtual Server with * all ports

Is there anything special I need to know for using a Virtual Server and Pool with "* All ports"? I've created the VS with protocol = "* All protocols" and pool with "* All services", but can't get the VS to work even though it shows green. The pool just has the ICMP monitor and shows green. The packet captures show the SYN making it to the VS server, but no response, nor any traffic being sent to the nodes.

 

If I change the VS to use a single port, everything works fine.

    This link may help with the order of precedence in VS. This would depend on code version, db variable and existence of VS with higher precedence.

    You mentioned that the pool currently has the ICMP monitor enabled. Have you confirmed that the service you're attempting to send traffic to is "up" on the pool members?
