Virtual Server - who access this server - which ip adress and which bandwith

Hello,

we have to find out for one virtual server. This virtual server is not blocked by a firewall. Uses port 22 for SFTP No irule etc - Type Perfomance Layer 4 SSH protocol TCP

What we want to know is -> who access this virtual server and how much bandwith this ip adress uses.

How can i log that in the loadbalancer ?

thanks

  • Hi Dormelchen,

    No quick solution exists for your problem. However, you can achieve that:

    1) With the use AVR module (Application Visibility & Reporting)

    2) With the use of LTM iRule:

    - [IP::client_addr] - returns client IP address

    - [IP::stats bytes in] / [IP::stats bytes out] - returns inbound/outbound bytes. Having that information, you need to use calculations per n-second average (expr command in TCL).

    As per current setup, you can only go with option 1, since with the use of performance type VS you won't have the [IP::stats] functions available for use in iRules (Standard type VS is required for option 2).
