vcmp guest not seeing pool member

I have a vcmp guest that is not able to see the one pool member that I have currently set up. The guest is unable to ping the pool member (via the specified route domain) and there are no entries for the pool member in the arp table. I am simulating a pool member using my laptop. I have specified a port that the laptop is listening for the pool member port. Any ideas as to why the two devices cannot see each other? The laptop switch port is configured as the same vlan that the self-ip I am trying to reach is on.

Thanks.

If you are issuing the ping from the bigip command line, you will need first to:

    rdsh

    where is the route domain.

Also, make sure your VCMP guest has a self IP that belongs to that route domain too.

  • Thanks for the tip aFanen01. The issue turned out to be a configuration problem with the switch that the appliance was connected to.
