Upgrading Active-Standby Cluster from 11.4.0 to 11.5.1

Is it possible to have an Active/Standby Cluster in sync after upgrading the standby unit to 11.5.1 while the active unit remains at 11.4.0?

 

I upgraded the Standby unit to 11.5.1 and upon reboot it says "Awaiting initial Sync with Changes Pending". I'm not sure if it's possible to sync back up to the primary or if I'm just supposed to verify the config is all there and then force it active and proceed to upgrade the other unit to 11.5.1 before everything eventually syncs up.

    Our upgrade process to 11.5.1 went as follows:

     

    • Upgrade standby to 11.5.1
    • failover to standby (active still running 11.x)
    • confirm connectivity and all systems functioning
    • If success, upgrade original active, if fail, reboot back.
    • If success and upgrade of active performed, sync from original standby to active (typically one or two changes may be required), if it won't let you, tick "overwrite".
