Upgrade procedures for LTM VE

The first attempt was a massive failure and I was forced to fall back.

 

what was the failure? if it is configuration issue, i think we have to correct it after booting to new software and try to load the configuration again.

 

i normally do tmsh install sys software command (no fancy).

 

Occasionally when we've upgraded our F5's they refuse to load the config.

 

going between some versions causes issues (particularly when the HA config is different).

 

If you understand your config and know your way around the command line, typically you can run "tmsh load sys conf" look at the error and figure out what part of your config isn't loading.

What exactly was the issue?

 

I have experienced the VEs being a bit temperamental when it comes to upgrades (not installing config in the new volume etc)
