The issue of trying to upgrade from f5.microsoft_sharepoint_2010 to f5.microsoft_sharepoint_2010_2013, but getting the "can't read "::server__discourage_ntlm" error? I've tried to reproduce this, but without knowing what choices were made in the iApp it, I haven't been able to do it.
The simplest way to work around this is to create a new iApp deployment using the f5.microsoft_sharepoint_2010_2013 template with a different virtual server IP address. In a maintenance window, you can then delete the old iApp and reconfigure the new iApp using the virtual server IP from the production instance. This will prevent IP conflicts between the deployments.
