UDP Caching for down node.

Is there a way, probably via an irule, to create a buffer of UDP traffic(syslog and/or SNMP-Traps) incoming to a virtual server for a single back end node that may be down?

The scenario for this is a single pool member, that needs to take a minute or two of outage. (Reboot, patching, service restart, etc.) I contacted support about this already and the answer was "it's theoretically possible," but are not able to provide any examples of this type of thing.

I was thinking I could use UDP::hold, build some sort of array, then UDP::release it after a node available. I am not a pro at TCL, I was hoping to find some help here. I am new to this, go easy on me.
