Nimbostratustrouble wth Loadbalance HTTP Traffic
Dear All,
I have trouble with loadbalance HTTP Traffic.
Below is the Deployment Scenario :
I have BIGIP that only have Link Controller License. We deploy inbound and outbound load balance for Mail Exchange Client Access Server (CAS) or can be called as OWA. we also have 2 unit CAS and using loadbalance least connection. At the DNS server, Access to OWA is using Virtual IP that create at Virtual Server.
There is no Problem when few user login to the OWA and enable 2 node/member at the Pool.
When the user is about 300 connection (total from 2 Server) and enable 2 node/member at Pool, user is experience below trouble :
- some user must enter username&password for several times to successfully login to the OWA.
- some user successfully login but can not logout.
- some user successfully login but the interface is broken (no image in the web interface).
- some user successfully login and has no problem.
If the Pool is enable only 1 node/member there is no problem at all.
I also want to ask, if i only have LC license, can i use iApps? The Web Gui have iApps menu, but there is error when i finished and apply the configuration at the iApps menu. I think, its because the iApps only can be use when the LTM license is purchased. Am i correct?
Please advice and help for our problem.

Do you have persistence enabled? It sounds like the users may be generating multiple connections that are connected to different nodes.
Hi, you will need to license and provision LTM to deploy the iApp in this scenario. Our Exchange solution only supports LTM, LTM+APM, and APM standalone deployments. APM standalone is used to forward the traffic to VIPs on another BIG-IP, so it wouldn't apply in your case.

yunan_haris_ip_Hi mike, so, even i have iApps menu in LC license i can not use the iApps feature to optimize http traffic for CAS? (not using APM feature). Thank you- That's correct. All BIG-IPs have iApp templates, but the templates themselves are limited to modules that are appropriate for the product you are deploying. Exchange only uses LTM, APM, and AVR.
Yunan, can you clarify what the error msg say after loading the iAPP?

" After i Googling for this error, the result is as below : This message occurs when all of the following conditions are met: - The BIG-IP ASM system has an ASM standalone license - You attempt to assign a pool that has more than one pool member to a virtual server I does not enable/configure the ASM feature. i try to configure only one pool member at the pool that i assign to virtual server, but the error is same. Any solution for this?
- ArieYou may want to log a ticket with F5, especially since it's referring a license error.
