TACACS.net question

We're using tacacs.net as our server and then using role groups on the F5 to determine authorization and permissions level. Is there A) a way to put the permissions on the tacacs server and pass them back to the F5? In my testing it did nothing.

and B) Is there a way under the role group to permit access to multiple partitions (but not ALL partitions)? I see there is a 'other' option, but typing in anything just blocks access completely.

I'm guessing no because I've tested it, but just want to make sure I'm not missing anything or there are any tricks.

Thanks

  • Hello,

    for B have a look to tmos 11.6 :

    Enhanced user access control

This release adds granularity to BIG-IP access control. For any BIG-IP user, a BIG-IP administrator with the appropriate user role can now grant user access to multiple administrative partitions (instead of access to one or all only), and can assign multiple user roles to the user, one for each partition to which the user has access.
