syslog-ng + interface mgmt

Hello,

 

 

I have set syslog-ng on an F5 LTM. udp traffic was going thought 1.1 interface and not mgmt.

 

 

So i have set a specific route to force routing through eth0 for syslog server destination and add the command line on rc.local.

 

 

This work now but is it the right way to do that ?

    Yes, that is correct.

     

     

    The default route for LTM trumps the default route for mgmt, so if you have locally-generated traffic that should use the mgmt interface, you need to set a specific mgmt route for that traffic.
