SNMP Trap - Total Open Connections
Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked/answered before, but I have an SNMP issue that I'm trying to solve.
I would like to send an email alert when the total number of open connections on the LTM exceeds a specified amount (45k for instance). And then check again after a delay , if possible, before sending the mail again.
I believe I need to check against OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.1.2.1.8.0
F5-BIGIP-SYSTEM-MIB::sysStatClientCurConns.0
However this does not seem to be a trappable event.
I have also gone over the articles regarding creating custom SNMP traps and sending as mail, but I am at a bit of a loss trying to check the above value against a threshold value and then sending an alert.
I also found in forums a way to maintain a count through iRules, but this seems to be only for the specific iRule and the VS that this iRule is run from.
Please let me know if you can direct me to a solution on this problem. All help is much appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Kerem Ates
