SNMP Client Not Connecting
SNMP recently stopped working with our monitoring server. Current version is v9.2 and were migrating to new F52000's running v11.5.2. Until we finish the migration I still need to monitor our current F5's. Being fairly new to the F5's. What steps can I take to trouble shoot SNMP on the F5 and establish an SNMP client connection.
When I scan the F5 I am able to see that port 161 is open.

I do not know if I understand, but you are doing polling? You have enabled the SNMP client IP in the BigIP? Do this in the "System> SNMP> Agent> Configuration" https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/bigip_tmos_implementations_11_0_0/15.html?sr=44234123 Hope this helps. - bwilliam

Yeah I am polling the F5 with Solarwinds. I read the 9.2 documentation and according to what I read everything is configured correctly.
SNMP Agent is configured to allow the polling server
SNMP Agent access is configured for RO access, allowing the polling server and root of the OID.
I just need to know next steps to trouble shoot/get SNMP working. I suspect there must be something at the CLI that can be done. Unfortunately, the F5s are new to me and V9 CLI is night and day different, as compared to V11.

make sure the client allow list covers your monitoring server, and that your community string is set properly for v1/v2c or v3 access. You can test locally on BIG-IP from the command line by doing a walk against localhost, and if that works, it should work remotely. If it isn't working locally, I do recall having snmp occasionally needing a restart via bigstart restart snmpd

These are they types of commands I was looking for Jason. I guess under the covers the F5 is really linux, but my linux skills are not the best. I did run bigstart restart snmpd with negative results.
Anyway on my active F5 I ran the command snmpwalk -v 2c -c mycommunity localhost Timeout: No Response from localhost
On my standby F5 I ran the same command and got all the mibs
Have you got any other tricks under your sleeves?
