SNAT Config?

I am having prolems getting a server on the inside interface of my big-ip v4.5 talking to the vip of a pool of 2 servers. I have confured the source server with a SNAT as it is the originator of the tcp session.

I have only configured a SNAT before for a server being the originator of the tcp session talking to a device out of the DMZ or a device on the same subnet not a VIP.

Any ideas

Thanks
  • You probably want to go to the following link https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_4_x/manuals/product/bigip4_5ref/BIGip_addrtrans.html69839

That should give you an idea of how to create something called "VIP Bounceback" or "bounceback"
  • Unfortunately this doc didn't meantion bounce back so i did a search in askf5 and found a doc about it.

I understand what it says except that the destination servers are also configured with a SNAT.

Before i asked the question on this forum i tried configuring the source servers with a SNAT but this failed to work.

I am wondering whether having a SNAT on the destination servers causes a problem?

    Thanks
