Sharepoint 2007 Health Monitor

Need help setting up health monitor for website running on sharepoint 2007 server with LTM 11.6 for LB. I tried setting up external monitor but the monitor is showing up in drop down menu when try to setup external monitor. Also failing NTLM auth when using curl for testing.
