setting up IPv6 connectivity between LTM and the backend server.
Hello All, I'm working on a task to deploy IPv6 on LTM for an application team request. It would be great helpful if someone share any guide to understand the best practices in deploying IPv6 in a specific routing domain?
In addition can anyone help me to know how the layer 2 connectivity works with IP6?
For example server (vlan 10) <<==> switch (Layer with IP v6 address of vlan 10) <==> LTM ( vlan 10 and IP v6 self IP of VLAN 10)
does the above topology works between the server and LTM over IPv6 connectivity?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Hello, this is pretty straight forward. IPv6 and IPv4 packets can be transmitted over the same VLAN.
Create a LTM Pool that includes IPv6 members and just use it as default pool for your existing IPv4 Virtual Server. You also need SelfIP with a link-local IPv6 address to establish a server-side connection from BigIP to IPv6 nodes.
Basic configuration guide is available. https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K9279

Thanks a lot for your reply. Can I assign IPv4 and IPv6 address to the same VLAN in F5?

Sure can. Assign as many addresses as you want. Can be IPv4, IPv6, or a combination of both.
