Session Attribute to show Policy Flow

I am curious if anyone has tried this or if there is an easy way.

 

I currently use my APM for SSO to various Web applications using SAML. I send various user session attributes to Splunk on policy completion for a session and then have a splunk Dashboard setup showing some great stats and graphs. What would be good is if I could also send a session variable the showed the progression through the policy for that user for debugging purposes etc.

 

e.g. a session attribute with something like this:

 

App1(out)->-SSO(Success)->-VariableAssign(out)->-SAML(out)->-Allow

 

Anyone tried anything similar using an iRule?
