Same URL for multiple services
Hi
I have 4 servers (e.g. Server1, Server2, Server3, Server4) in 2 sites (Server1 and Server2 in SiteA, Server3 and Server4 in SiteB) hosting services at different ports (e.g. ports 2000 and 3000) on each server. These servers are behind an LTM in each site. I have a Big-IP DNS in each site with a wide-IP abc.mydomain.com associated with pools referencing the LTM VIPs.
The application team wished to access both services via the same GSLB URL as they're part of the same application (understandable). For example, they want to access the services in both sites at abc.mydomain.com:2000 and abc.mydomain.com:3000.
From an LTM perspective, will I need 2 virtual servers with 2 VIPs, one for each service (port)? And if this is the case, does this not mean that I cannot use 1 wide IP as I cannot associate it with 2 LTM VIPs?

Mrkips,
Yes, LTM would need 2 VIPs, one for each service.
From a GTM perspective it only returns an IP address. Which port the client sends traffic to on that IP address is outside of GTM control.
Hope this helps,
