Request patterns
Hi,
We have been investigating the performance of our application and noticed that there is a very obvious pattern to the requests to our application, please see the attached graph, show number of requests to each of our data centers every ten seconds.
We use the F5 GTM to load balance (Round Robin) web requests from our clients two web proxies. The TTL of the DNS record is 30 seconds, which losely matches up with the traffic pattern.
We think this traffic pattern is understandable given that the requests only come from two web proxies and they honour the TTL?
Additionally, if we want to distribute the connections more evenly, would setting the TTL of the DNS record to a lower threshold be advisable? Of course we would only set the TTL of THIS dns record given we know requests only come from two web proxies.
F5 GTM 1600 version 9.4.
Your thoughts are much appreciated,
D.
