NimbostratusJust an update.. It seems I dont need to redirect 8080 to 4443 at all. Maybe I should have started by saying that this is for Lync and I dont want to use the iApp (atleast not yet). I ended up looking up what those ports are used by, for Lync, and according to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398833.aspx it doesnt appear that 8080 SHOULD be redirected to https:// :4443... They are used for two entirely different purposes.
I still would like to figure out what I am doing wrong with the custom port redirects but I didnt want to waste any of your time. Thanks for all the suggestions and help. It was very beneficial to me if for no other reason than learning more about the F5.

Hi Jim, we highly recommend using the latest iApp (from downloads.f5.com) for deploying Lync. An LTM configuration for Lync can require creating as many as 500 objects on the BIG-IP.
