Redirect old URL to new URL with a Variable

This may be similar to my other post but just in case I'm going to post is separately.

 

 

Again, let me first start off saying I'm very new to the F5 so sorry if my questions seem nebie'ish.

 

 

We are making some major adjustment in our infrastructure and one of the things I need to do is setup the ability to redirect request from one area to another. For example I want to redirect request that go to mysite.com/newsgroups/group1 to newsgroups.mysite.com/newsgroups/group1. Now this would be probably be real simple if I only had one group1, but there are several groups, like 200 plus groups. I first though of a simple redirect from the old domain name to the new but how do I handle the group portion, if my users have bookmarked their newsgroup it wouldn't come up, so need to redirect them to the correct site.

 

 

Would some type of iRule that matches header request or something work?
