Reconnect Problems after Loss of Network Connection

My internet connection is not very stable at the moment, so I have experienced the following situation several times: I successfully log in to our VPN using Firepass on Snow Leopard / Safari Plugin. If I lose connection while logged in, I am no longer able to re-establish a new session. Session window pops up but immediately closes again without reestablishing the VPN connection. The only remedy I have found is a restart, which I would like to avoid. Any hints on existing solutions, additional possibilities for diagnosis, removing of stale files, or known other workarounds are highly welcome Thanks steiniplatte

  • What does your ip route/connections show before and after the disconnect?
  • Hi Mike

Not sure what type of info you require, perhaps you can point me to the shell command output your want to see. I use a standard Internet Router (Fritzbox, me being German) all settings for routing are left on Default, internet access is working fine after the the reconnect (PPPoE timeouts due to poor signal quality, I suppose).

Too me behaviour looks like the plugin hits upon an unremoved file or memory segment.
