Nov 10, 2014Reboot is taking a lot of time.
I went into file management -> boot location and active the inactive boot location which is Disk 1.2. Now F5 is rebooting since 15 mints. I am very concerned what happened? How long will it take to reboot? should i be worry?

That does sound like a long time for a reboot. Is the reboot actually progressing, or is it hanging, and if so, where has it stopped? What do you get on the console? - sorry is not file management its software management. There were two boot locations. Active and inactive. I never used inactive. I booted into inactive one so the system first shutdown all the process then started reboot and stayed like this till now since 50 minutes. Can connect through gui or ssh now. Will try to physically go into data center but please any guess? should i power it off and on?

Look into /var/log/ltm and see what errors there are in there. - JG

And did you do this after an upgrade? It is not clear why you wanted to boot into 1.2. It might not have any conf at all. - 2014-11-11 10:04:57 Local0.Error 10.50.171.3 Nov 11 10:05:37 www err tmm7[19586]: 01010028:3: No members available for pool /Common/Tibco-FT-Group01-7232 2014-11-11 10:06:39 Auth.Info 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:06:06 www info sshd[8899]: Accepted keyboard-interactive/pam for root from 10.50.243.39 port 49244 ssh2 2014-11-11 10:06:39 System0.Info 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:06:06 www info sshd(pam_audit)[8899]: user=root(root) partition=[All] level=Administrator tty=ssh host=10.50.243.39 attempts=1 start="Tue Nov 11 10:06:06 2014". 2014-11-11 10:06:39 Local0.Info 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:06:06 www info sshd(pam_audit)[8899]: 01070417:6: AUDIT - user root - RAW: sshd(pam_audit): user=root(root) partition=[All] level=Administrator tty=ssh host=10.50.243.39 attempts=1 start="Tue Nov 11 10:06:06 2014". 2014-11-11 10:21:26 Kernel.Warning 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:20:53 www warning kernel: EXT2-fs warning: maximal mount count reached, running e2fsck is recommended 2014-11-11 10:21:26 User.Notice 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:20:53 www notice grub_default: default boot location changed to HD1.2. 2014-11-11 10:21:27 Local0.Emerg 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:20:54 www emerg overdog[5572]: 01140043:0: Ha feature software_update reboot requested. 2014-11-11 10:21:27 Local0.Critical 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:20:54 www crit overdog[5572]: 01140102:2: Overdog daemon requests reboot. 2014-11-11 10:21:27 Kernel.Notice 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:20:54 www notice kernel: overdog[5572]: watchdog disabled ... 2014-11-11 10:21:29 Daemon.Alert 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:20:56 www alert init: Tue Nov 11 10:20:56 2014 Switching to runlevel: 6 (reboot) 2014-11-11 10:21:35 Daemon.Info 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:21:02 www info smartd[5568]: smartd received signal 15: Terminated 2014-11-11 10:21:35 Daemon.Info 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:21:02 www info smartd[5568]: smartd is exiting (exit status 0) 2014-11-11 10:21:35 Local7.Notice 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:21:02 www notice smartd: smartd shutdown succeeded 2014-11-11 10:21:36 Local0.Warning 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:21:03 www warning alertd[7142]: 01100002:4: alertd is going down. 2014-11-11 10:21:36 Local2.Notice 10.50.171.2 Nov 10 21:21:03 www notice big3d[6138]: 012b0001:5: big3d exiting =============================== 2014-11-11 10:21:36 System0.Info 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:21:03 www info su(pam_audit)[7464]: user=tomcat(root) partition=(unknown) level=(unknown) tty=(unknown) host=(unknown) attempts=1 start="Tue Aug 26 06:14:09 2014" end="Tue Nov 11 10:21:03 2014". 2014-11-11 10:21:36 Local0.Info 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:21:03 www info su(pam_audit)[7464]: 01070417:6: AUDIT - user tomcat - RAW: su(pam_audit): user=tomcat(root) partition=(unknown) level=(unknown) tty=(unknown) host=(unknown) attempts=1 start="Tue Aug 26 06:14:09 2014" end="Tue Nov 11 10:21:03 2014". 2014-11-11 10:21:36 Local0.Error 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:21:03 www err msgbusd[6721]: 01640004:3: nanosleep system call failed 2014-11-11 10:21:36 Local0.Error 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:21:03 www err mcpd[7143]: 01070069:3: Subscription not found in mcpd for subscriber Id stpd5850-0. 2014-11-11 10:21:36 Local0.Error 10.50.171.2 Nov 11 10:21:04 www err bcm56xxd[5650]: 012c0010:3: Failover event detected. If you can ssh into the box or if you have access to the console, run "switchboot" and then select the previous boot partition, and then run "/usr/bin/full_box_reboot" (this step is not needed if you are on a Viprion).
