proxy and interconnect help

We are expanding our F5 use to more than just load balancing and I am working on a Proxy/Interconnect option for one of our apps and am trying to figure out the best use for the following type setup...

Yes, we would like to load balance both the Interconnect and Soap proxy. Also Is there a way F5 can ping/check a web service to make sure it is active on the interconnect?
