Aug 03, 2010Protected Workspace: Could Not Start Protected Workspace
My notebook is running in WINXP Professional SP3. I am using Firefox 3.6.8.
After I clicked "Yes, Virtual desktop will be started", there was a popup shown with message, 'Preparing the new profile'. Then it disappeared. After a while, the following error dialog box was displayed:
"Protected Workspace: Could not start Protected Workspace".
I tried on IE 7.0 also. Also the same error result.
My Windows Firewall is on. I also install Trend Micro OfficeScan client. No other 3rd-party security related software installed.
What should I do right now ?

Install the pws hotfox from f5 if using 6.0.3. Other options include removing the Microsoft hf kb955759 or use the unregister tool Microsoft made for the Indeo codec. - Sam_81197

Have you seen http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/8000/100/sol8119.html
They say fixed in version 6.0.3 but what version are you running?

Sam,
Can you try this for me? It will unregister the Indeo Codec. Close all instances of IE (kill all processes) and try again after you complete the .MSI setup.

I am using WINXP SP3, not VISTA. The link is irrelevant. - Sam_81197
