priority switching

i have scoured DevCentral looking for a solution to, what appears to be a popular concept. the scenario is as follows...

node-A is priority 1

node-B is priority 2

node-A is marked DOWN by the BIGIP monitor. consequently, traffic then switches to node-B. later, node-A is marked UP again by the BIGIP monitor. how do you switch the priorities when node-A was originally marked DOWN so that the traffic does not resume back to node-A after node-A is marked UP again? after node-B starts receiving the traffic, node-A should only get traffic if node-B is subsequently marked down. i have seen the manual resume feature, but we would like to automate priority switching. our LDAP is taking great issue with the traffic automatically going back to node-A.

Thanks!
