Potential Bug with VE v13 and latest VMware release
Just to give a heads up to anyone else running v13 VEs, we just ran into what looks like a pretty serious bug in the latest patch release of VMware that breaks the VE
ESXi version 6.7.0, 13006603 seems to be the affected version which is a result of the VMware patches released on 10th April
Symptoms are that F5 VE loses all network connectivity except through the management interface. TCPDUMP on affected interface(s) just shows constant arp packets being sent
From what we’ve seen, both version 13.1.1 release 4 and 13.1.0 release 8 are affected , 12.1.4 release 8 is not affected. Haven’t been able to confirm or deny v14 at this point as we don’t have any running
From an ESXi perspective, the March 2019 rollup seems ok (v6.7.0 13004448), and the NON-critical patches seem OK too
We've opened support tickets with F5 and VMware, so we'll see where that goes, but I thought I'd post something to advise caution with the April 10th critical VMware patches
