Postfix Email Alerts on Monitor Status Up/Down *Timing*

I've implemented the postfix emailing using custom SNMP traps (alert.conf OID)     I am looking for certain strings from the syslogs and when I do, I send an email.     My question is......

i send the alerts to a distribution list and simply remove recipients from the list for maintenance. We only have maintenance one weekend a month though. Might be a pain to do that nightly.
