Mar 22, 2017Pool Members / Nodes Health Monitors
Hi,
Trying to get my head around health monitors. Is it normal practice to have health monitors assigned at both the node and pool member level or would you normally choose one above the other?...

Mar 22, 2017I would strongly recommend monitoring at the pool level only, since it is where the actual service resides. In other words, if the service is up this means also that the underlying node is up so I don't care checking node. This is true in 99% of scenarios. Moreover, if the member is up but the node is not answering a monitor then both the node and the member will be marked down.
