Persistence with source IP and sticky for 8 hours

I have a requirement where I have to configure persistence based on the source IP but load balance to the same server (sticky) for 8 hours. They do not want me to use cookie inserts on the F5.   ...

What about creating a persistance profile using Source Affinity and set it for 8 hours. The associate it through the VIP resource. This avoids using any iRule.
