Is it allowed/acceptabel to add modules to LTM? What I want to do is use PERL to monitor log file for certain activity and if present, INSERT variables from log file into database. So I need mysql module.
Thanks
Darren

Hi Darren,
F5 won't support or help you adding custom software to their products, but nothing is stopping you from doing so.

If I were you, I'd double check to make sure what modifying the software on your LTM will do with your support contract. I'm not saying that it will violate your agreement, because I don't know for sure. That's something you will have to verify. As Aaron said, there's nothing from stopping you installing additional software, but our systems are finely tuned. They were not developed to be an open platform for users to drop additional software onto and anything you do manually to change the file system structure or running process list, may have unwanted side-effects.
