Nov 27, 2008Oracle session disconnected when IPMP fail over on member
Hi Guys,
I'm a system administrator. Here's my issue. Front end is bigip 4.5.10, backend are the oracle db hosts running on Solaris 10 sparc using IPMP. The member IP configured on F5 is a virtual ip binded on the IPMP interfaces on the node.
When IPMP fails over from interface a to interface b, DBA reported oracle sessions marked down. But same thing, if there's no f5 in front of the DB node, but it's a redundant switch, IPMP works well with oracle session.
Have you ever encountered this issue? Any clue how to resolve?
Thanks,
-Joyce
- Chris_Akker_129Historic F5 AccountHi Joyce, we would need a packet capture during the failover event, to see exactly what packets are being sent to/from the IPMP servers and the Big-IP. If you have a support contract on the unit, and want assistance from our gurus in support, you can open a support case and they can assist with collecting and analyzing the packets to see what the issue might be.
