NTP not working since power cut
Hi all, we suffered a power cut late on Friday and since then have been unable to get NTP working on our loadbalancers.
I've restarted the NTP daemon and when running: ntpq -np command I get the following:
[root@LTM1:Standby:Changes Pending] config ntpq -np
localhost.localdomain: timed out, nothing received
***Request timed out
Does anyone know what might be causing this?
Thanks in advance,
Ant

Hi, did you check your ntp servers configuration?

Ok, slight change... Now it is returning:
[root@LTM1:Active:In Sync] config ntpq -np No association ID's returned [root@LTM1:Active:In Sync] config ntpq -p ntp0.net.strath.ac.uk Temporary failure in name resolution [root@LTM1:Active:In Sync] config ntpq -p 143.210.16.201 143.210.16.201: timed out, nothing received ***Request timed out - Anthony

Ok, the answer to this was that our DNS server has moved to a different zone on our internal network so it couldn't resolve anything after the reboot.
All sorted now though. Thanks for your assistance.
