Noob (not a boob) needs Help with Setup

Hello, I'm such a newbie that I cant seem to find a newbie forum.

 

 

Anyhow, My company has an older 2400 big IP LTM that has never been configured. It is running 4.x kernel.

 

 

At any rate, I am unable to communicate properly with the Serial interface. I have tried a few different VT100 emulators to start the config process.

 

 

I can boot the F5 and watch the sequence, however I cant seem to type any response to the system. I want to log in as root and run the config setup..but nothing happens when type..the cursor just sits there and taunts me, unmoving.

 

 

I'm sure this post is as green as it gets...but I assure you once I get to where I can actually type into the console I will gain a rarely reached level of 'dangerous'.

 

 

Please help if you can...

    I had the exact same issue one time. Turns out it was my my terminal dongle
