Network Failover - version 11.3

I have set up network failover on two guests on a pair of vcmp appliances. The appliances are directly connected over fiber. I have a config sync vlan that I am using for synchronization. Is it possible to use the config sync vlan for the network failover unicast IPs? When I tried using the config sync failover IPs for failover, one appliance would see the other as offline. Failover is working when I set the failover address to the management IPs.

Thanks.

i do not have vcmp right now but virtual edition. in my ve, i use configsync, failover and mirroring on tmm interface (i.e. not mgmt interface).

  • Thanks nitass. I am still unsure as to why failover does not work using the directly connected interfaces.

  • Thanks for responding to my question, nitass. The problem turned out to be the configuration on the switch port that the F5 appliance connects to.
