I tried also VMware Workstation 9 with BIGIP Virtual Edition but encountered the same issues. I will try VMware Workstation 7 and update this post in few days.

Hi, In fact, i think it could be a bug in the trial version. this is how i solve it : I tested the trial version in ESXi this time and when i add a new NIC to the VM, i can see the new NIC 1.3 UP with the correct MAC address. the old interface 1.2 (named external above) begins to function correctly and the problem occurs for just the newly added NIC (1.3), and so on. I'll deal with a prodcution version soon, i'll let you know if the problem persists
