Need to monitor pool members on both themselves as well as other servers

Gang,

 

I have a web application that's running on two load-balanced web servers. Those web servers are pulling their content from one specific server behind each web server. I need to monitor the web servers themselves for proper functionality, as well as monitor the back-end server for each web server. If the back-end server goes down, I'll need to pull the corresponding web server out of the pool. Any thoughts? I'm running LTM v11.4.1.

    Hi Joe,

     

    Can you configure an HTTP or HTTPS monitor which checks a page that the web server needs to get from the content server?

     

    Or can you monitor the content servers directly in a separate pool using the destination alias setting on the monitor and then put that monitor on the web server pool?
