Need help with Topology Load Balancing

Hi,

we are trying to set up topology based Load Balancing. We have one of our URL's test.intlb.xx.net set up over GTM for DNS load balancing We have Infoblox DNS server as default for every user in the company We created topology records and have the LB method to topology We have created Resource records for subnet of Denver users to always go to One DC However this is not working since GTM is always seeing the query coming in from Infoblox DNS server IP and the subnet we have provided is for user LAN subnet.

How can we get this working

  • Hi,

GTM never know client IP but client local DNS IP (in your case, this is the infoblox IP)

if you don't have a different DNS servers for subnets, you won't be able to use topology load balancing.

  • You might use different DNS server for use topology lb method because GTM always consider the local DNS server for making topology decision.

Site A with DNS server a.a.a.a and Site B with DNS server b.b.b.b.

Then create a topology record as Local DNS a.a.a.a, GTM will resolve to site A and local DNS b.b.b.b, GTM will resolve to site B.
