May 08, 2008Need help with Reporting Piece
Hey we ran into an issue yesterday when all of our concurrent user licenses got used up and people were locked out. We had some old sessions that were hosing up our licenses. We changes the threshold on the inactive timeout to 60min.
We have 100 licenses for 100 concurrent logins. So now I am tasked with doing trend analysis to se how we can alleviate the problem, what times are most heavy, what days, and ultimately how many more licenses we should get.
My question is under reports, then SESSIONS, then under the CURRENTLY ACTIVE tab,
I see 317 current sessions. But when I go through and actually count them, I count 85. Why does it show 317 when I only have 85? If I go to the last page, it is blank. This is screwing up my analysis. We only have 100 usable.
Next Question, under DEVICE MGMT, MONITORING, SYSTEM LOAD, I see my line graph of active sessions which is peaking at about 340. Is this measuring application sessions and not LOGON sessions?
Could this be anymore convoluted?
Is there a way to send out alerts when licenses are nearing full capacity?
I'm in a tight spot here and I'm not familiar with F5. Someone pleas help me out.

Hi. Were you ever able to get a resolution for this? I am looking for something similar.
